T-Lane Transportation & Logistics is excited to be adding to our team. The Shipping and Receiving role is an integral part to our business at T-Lane. This role is 95% outside, so our new teammate will have a love for all weather conditions and say “bring it on” when there’s adverse conditions.
Our new teammate will take great initiative & will thrive off of working independently and in a team. You will care about our fleet, being a valuable resource for all of our drivers: loading, unloading, trapping, securing. Your communication will be unmatched.
The key to success in this role is keeping organization and safety a priority, while moving with efficiency in purpose. You are the keeper of our yard lay-down area, and will be a master at both planning the space & ensuring smooth movement of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Open yard
- Tailboard meeting
- Daily yard Check
- Complete yard / load paperwork
- Stuff and de-stuff sea cans
- Plan, organize, execute yard area to allow for movement of goods
- Assist driver fleet with loading/unloading, securing, and tapping of loads
- Close and secure yard
Skills and Abilities:
- Valid forklift certification & proven experience
- Ability to operate a yard truck
- Carpentry, completing basic maintenance as needed
- Mechanical aptitude
- Hard Working and Self Starter
- Excellent team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Ability to lift 50lbs
Knowledge:
- Experience in a similar role would be a driving factor in hiring decisions
- Active forklift ticket
- Class 3 license is required
- Class 1 license would be considered a large asset
